Training camps are a great opportunity to kick start your fitness, learn new things and correct some errors. The camps in spring are focused more on gaining fitness before the start of European triathlon season. On the other hand the camps in autumn will be geared more towards exploring new places and having fun while still being able to learn a thing or two.

Makarska, Croatia
Makarska is a beautiful town on the Adriatic coast. It is located in a naturally protected harbor surrounded by the beautiful peninsula of St. Peter and the cape Osejava. As a result, it’s the only harbor of this kind in this area. Therefore it served as a shelter for sailors in the past if they got caught in stormy weather. It’s well known for its crystal clear waters perfect for swimming and a vast variety of interesting and challenging on and off-road routes for cycling and running.
The city of Makarska is a part of the Croatian coastline called the Makarska Riviera which is about 60 kilometers long and is located under the mountain Biokovo. As a result, it’s protected from the cold continental climate, and in consequence, it’s one of the warmest parts of the country. Its microclimate provides perfect weather conditions for training almost throughout the whole year.
During the camp, athletes did 4 swim sessions, 4 bike rides and 3 run sessions which added up to just over 20 hours of training. They trained in smaller groups so that everyone could get the most out of the camp. For impressions take a look at the video and photo gallery below.
